I can answer that for you coosa. You can consider yourself a local when you start calling newcomers "move ins" "transplants" or "half-backs". 25 years is plenty of time to consider yourself a local.

I was born in Brunswick, GA, but due to a military father, I had lived in 6 states by the time I was 12. In 2004, I made the mistake of moving to Colorado. When I convinced my husband to move back to Georgia, he picked Blairsville out of the atlas. I looked it up on the internet, found the other forum, and found many friends. While living there for a short 6 months, I managed to meet some of them face-to-face, yet others I have never met. I have received friendship, laughs, advice, and prayers during some of my most difficult times. Sure, there have been ones that I wasn't particularly fond of, but you find that everywhere, from your workplace to within your own family. My point is this - it doesn't matter (or shouldn't) where a person is "from", on forums such as these, we are all from the same bunch, the same crowd.
Home is definitely where the heart is. Just because my heart is in Brunswick does not mean that I don't include myself in the Blairsville Family. And I wouldn't change a thing.

That makes alot of sense taylor, a good friend of mine has lived in Florida for the past 20 years and says that he has never considered it "home" I left here for a while because I thought I needed to make alot of money to be happy, boy was I ever wrong!

This says, "A topic for non local residents of Blairsville to post."
Now I'm either a resident or I'm not, my taxes tell me I am!
Everyone has been very kind to me in Blairsville, I love my home.

I've been there, but now I'm back here. I've never been somewhere that I haven't, but I've been to lots of places that I have. I think. Merry Christmas everybody!
