Eggs have gone sky high! I bought a dozen of "eggland's best" eggs last week and used a .35 cent coupon that I had for a while and they came out the same price as the store brand! That's insane! My hubby dislikes eggs because when he was a kid his family of seven ate them a lot because they were cheap.

2cedars, we used to have eggs for supper sometimes... I wish I had a place for chickens, then I would have my own eggs and wouldn't have to worrry about it.

After watching the price go up so much, I am really considering building a chicken pen and having my own eggs as well. Sonny doesn't eat them like he used to (I won't let him!). Heart stuff and all, and I don't eat a lot because of the hereditary factor in my family for heart disease, but at times like the holidays, I use a lot in my cooking and yes, sometimes we have breakfast for supper. Geez, sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't be cheaper to eat out....The price of milk and eggs, along with everything else, makes Waffle House, Denny's, Shoney's and Cracker Barrel look like a really good deal!

Our place in Bville has a chicken coop! The old owner kept chickens and I wished I could have kept them! I don't have a place for them here, but once I'm up permanently, my hubby will be filling the coop!

I would get some chickens but if I did the price of chicken feed would triple.

You know, it really is almost as cheap to eat out as to buy food!

It really depends on what you are eating and how many you are feeding... and I usually like how my own cooking tastes better than restaraunt fixin's

I like home cooked meals better also but it's nice to go out and eat occasionally.

The problem with eating out is that half the time we are disappointed by the food or the service. :'(And, don't get on my case about this and claim that I don't like kids, but the sound of a crying baby or a toddler pitching a fit in a restaurant is really annoying to me.
I get tired of cooking too. I've not been inspired lately to try anything new. Time to look for some new recipes!

I agree with you Tessa. We usually wait to order until the screaming toddler and his family leave the restaurant! I have even noticed that bird seed has gone way up!!

I sent grumpy to Bi-Lo and we got 2 of their $10.00 hams cut into breakfast slices. They also had pork tenderloin on sale and he got some steak.
Will shrink wrap them and put them in the freezer for the coming winter.
Deer season is really bad this year. We have always relied on healthy deer meat to get us through, I hope the grocery store hormone meat doesn't kill us.
The deer up here have a disease call the blue tongue. Plus with all of the acorns they aren't haveing to come out and graze. We are also seletive and don't kill every deer that is spotted, we only kill for meat.

I ate spagetti made with deer meat one time and it was awful. It just didn't have that good beef taste!
