Lie mar said, "When I took office, the jail budget was around $125,000. Today it is well over $1.1 million. Our public safety budget in 2003 was $2,802,400. This year it is $4,471,538. So what does the local Republican party want us to cut out?"
Cut out the I-N-C-R-E-A-S-E. When it comes to government and costs,We want less not more!!

Amen Oscar, we did just fine without liemar. Harold left the office with everything paid for and a decent sized surplus. People are realizing the truth about liemar paris, and truth will prevail come election day!

It has been a while since I have posted on any forum and it will probably be a while before I post again. Honestly I haven't read all of the posts, nor do I have time to.
I want to set the record straight on a couple of things.
In reference to "a smear sheet", the only information that was authorized by the Union County Republican Party to be published was the recent ad that was in the Union Sentinel regarding taxes. If any other media out there was done it was done on an individual basis.
When the Republicans in Union County have a candidate for any office we will go through the proper procedures and everyone will know it.
In regards to the Board of Elections, Sonny B. is a hard worker and very meticulous, we are standing by our choice to appoint him to the BOE. We believe that our Party should decide who we select for our representatives on the BOE not the Commissioner. We're just funny like that.

Let me tell you this Chuck. First, I respect what you are trying to do and I hope you are successful.
I know of another little county, way smaller than this one. Politics was a one sided affair. About a hundred and thirty years of Democratic rule. The county government was an extension of the big mans farm. State law didn't mean anything. Some folks paid property tax and some didn't have too.
This poor fellow who didn't know any better tried to change that. A county GOP was formed. It was a still birth. Instead of help from the state party, the state party went with the existing local power structure!! I see something like that happening here.
The governor, doing like he is doing, trying to dodge and avoid having to tell Lie mar that Sonny IS the Union County BOE rep. The Governor is the head of the state party and all he should do in this case, is confirm, back up and support the local party!
Lie mar has confirmed that Sonny was the individual chosen by the Union County GOP by his slanderous letters. The state party should accept that and hammer Lie mar in the head with it, to show him that he does not have VETO power over the local GOP
And another thing Lie mars performance about the GOP meeting that didn't happen at the court house is bested only by the local GOP's response!! We should have forgot about "making a scene" and pinned Lie mar's ears back and sent him packing.
These two issues right here are enough to sink Lie mar -IF-, let me repeat that, -IF- the state party will support us and support Sonny and sue Lie mars pants OFF! personally for slander against Sonny.
If Atlanta wants to support "both sides" in Union County you can just about give it up!
Having said all that what is happening is effecting Lie mar. Norm is already writing about Non-Partisan, trying to confuse folks. Lie mar can claim Non-Partisan if he wants to, he is still a crook!

Sometimer, what did Lamar say that was untrue about Sonny? All I remember from the letter is that Lamar said he didn't like Sonny and he wanted the other Sonny to decide, but I could be wrong. Wishful thinking, sometimer. Dream on. Slander is a type of defamation. Slander is an untruthful oral (spoken) statement about a person that harms the person's reputation or standing in the community. Because slander is a tort (a civil wrong), the injured person can bring a lawsuit against the person who made the false statement. Please don't embarrass Union County. I agree, Lamar woke a sleeping giant and the courthouse gate thing should give the Republican party the resolve to present a worthy Republican candidate. So, get over it, quit whining, and get moving. Times a wasting. As a taxpayer and voter, I don't care if Sonny is on the BOE or not. I doubt if # 1 and # 2 are election issues. SOMETIMER, YOU ARE ENTITLED TO YOU OPINION, BUT AS USUAL YOU ARE WAY OFF ON THIS ONE, TOO. Hey, I could be wrong. I will tell you what the other voters think in 2008. For now, that's my opinion. Here are the issues: Jobs; a plan for responsible use of tax money; lower taxes and accountability to the people; good roads; quality in government; better schools; quality in schools; fiscal responsibility; efficiency in government; preservation of precious resources; managed growth; controlled spending. GET REAL!!! It's ALL about the people, not parties and not about Sonny. |

Look people. I'm not a mean person, but I don't care about your little pity party problems. It is the big problems and solutions I care about. I can't speak for the rest of the voters. I only know what I feel and see, myself. TRUTH 1. Yes, our tax rates are lower. 2. The people of Union County and employees deserver respect. 3. And it is ALL ABOUT THE PEOPLE, not a pity party. As for telling you anything here I've learned my lesson that whatever is told here it gets back to the commissioner so if you are the commissioner, do u feel the heat yet?
if only a crony of the commissioner maybe you can drown him in water when he feels the heat.
