You want to know why I am a Republican? Here's my latest reason. The Republican party as well as the Democratic party have had money raising projects for their prospective parties and have sold tickets for raffels, bar-b ques in front of Ingles since it opened and it never bothered anyone. Well some one that hates the Republican party and presenting him self as high up in the Democratic party called Ingles corperate head quarters and complained that the Republican party was selling tickets and they wanted it stopped. Ingles response was to ban all activity by either party. Good show Democrats, ever hear the addage "Don't cut your nose off to spite your face"? The only ones I know that hates the Republicans and could be that devious are Norman (he called the cops on us one time because we didn't have a permit for a raffel and it turned out that the city didn't require one) and Lamar with his "not in my court house" Is the leadership of the Democratic party that neer sighted that they can't see thats going to hurt them also? Chuck and Doug need to get together and stop this kind of petty bickering before it goes any farther. Sonny Well Sonny, you just may be wrong about the fact that niether Party can now solicit at Ingles. Remember that around here depending on who you are, there can always be exceptions made. You would think that Ingles would realize that Republicans shop there too. I used to, but no more. This ploy should also be embarassing to the local Democrat Party. BTY, I'll bet that the Dem. Party had nothing to do with this. It seems to me that someone is extremely worried about the next election. That person and his supporters (work dog) will attempt to pull any and all dirty stunts imagineable whether they be untrue, unethical, immoral, or illegal. So look forward to much, much more in the months to come. This follows the control pattern of eliminating the voice of not only the GOP, but also everyone who dares to speak the truth. Examples: 1- Threaten to sue the Sentinel with unlimited funds (taxpayers money) to shut it down so that the NGN can be the only voice in town. 2- Deny Republican use of Courthouse. 3- Since the local GOP adamately supports our troops in many ways, Norman attempted to eliminate the Veterans Day Parade which we participate in. Also refused to promote the Support The Troops Dinner. 4- Lamar refuses to put Sonny Boyer on the Board Of Elections even though it is the GOP legitimate choice. 5- The Board Of Elections Act that is posted under Local Elections. Theres much more, but I hope you all can get the idea. Niether Party deserves nor should condone this type of filthy leadership. |

Eddie : This is Liemars typical way of handling opposition . He uses the office of commissioner to influence and intimidate any one who challenges or opposes Liemar . This is illegal , immoral , unethical and Liemar is disgraceful . He is typical Liemar Paris doing what he does best . He can do no better .AS Oscarwho would say, GO EDDIE LONG LEGS .

Lie mar was sucessful in his intimidation of the Union County GOP on the Court House deal.
IF the state GOP don't come down hard on the side of Sonny in his appointment to the BOE, then the signal will come from the highest state office that if you want anything in Union County Lie mar Paris is the GO-TO man.
Sonny must go to the BOE meeting and he don't need to go alone. Plenty of Union County GOP must back him up. Create a riot, if it takes it. Do what ever it takes to prove to Lie mar that he don't have VETO power over the Union County GOP!
The way it now stands, The Union County GOP must submit to Lie mar and the GOP only serves to keep the illusion alive that "politics in Union County" is fair because there exists "opposition", while in reality, no opposition exists if Le mar is allowed to controll everything! The Union County GOP can't even use the court house or decide who sits on the BOE!
Powerless! is that the intended signal you plan to send to the Voters of Union County?

Short c ; Liemar has fought sonny so much it appears from Liemars remarks that the KING believes he has worn sonny down . WRONG. The republicans have gotten stronger behind sonny and are spreading the news through out the state , showing all of Georgia what a FOOL LIEMAR PARIS IS .

Q. Someone, apparently from the local Republican Party, handed us a smear sheet outside Ingles. It accuses you of being a tax and spend commissioner, wasting taxpayers’ money.
A. I can not be responsible for ignorance some people have with regards to what is necessary to operate Union County government. When I took office, the jail budget was around $125,000. Today it is well over $1.1 million. Our public safety budget in 2003 was $2,802,400. This year it is $4,471,538. So what does the local Republican party want us to cut out? How about fewer recreation programs for our youth, how about letting Meeks Park grow up and certainly not plant any flowers out there, how about lets have less firemen, less fire engines, less deputies, less ambulance service, less drug task force members, less animal control and less pay for our employees.
Maybe they want to cut the District Attorneys budget so we will have less people in jail.
Oh yes, we could also cut the library and the health department. Would the local Republican party be happy then?
Seventy-five per cent (75%) of our budget increases since 2003 were from Public Safety alone. Also, don’t forget that road paving cost have nearly doubled along with increased cost in just about everything else in Union County government.
I am not wasting taxpayers money and the proof is that over 150 counties in Georgia have higher tax rates than Union County! I am very proud of what Union County is accomplishing with your property tax money. Our employees and all they accomplish for the people of Union County deserve more respect! The operation of Union County government is not about party, it is about doing what is best for the people of this county. That, I will continue.

Look people. I'm not a mean person, but I don't care about your little pity party problems. It is the big problems and solutions I care about. I can't speak for the rest of the voters. I only know what I feel and see, myself.
TRUTH
1. Yes, our tax rates are lower.
2. The people of Union County and employees deserver respect.
3. And it is ALL ABOUT THE PEOPLE, not a pity party.

Instead of your constant whining, the Republican party, specifically your candidate for commissioner (when you get one) will need to tell the voters what you are going to do. We want to hear a plan, your strategy, not your constant belly aching. You have told us the problems. We heard you the first time. What are you planning to do create change?
