That's funny, funtimeman...I don't care who you are. ;D This thread does bring up a point. There are some people who are cold hearted and there are some people who are cold because they don't have heat. There are needy people in Union County who don't have heat, fuel, too proud to ask an agency, and money isn't available right now to assist some of these people. Seek these people out. I'm not saying we should list these people here. Just find someone and help them. Why don't some people call the department of family services today, your local church, and find out who needs help? Even if money is available from family services, it takes time to fill out paperwork to assist these people, today. Maybe you or a small group in your local church could make sure an individual or family has heat. I make sure one-older person in Union County has heat. I urge you to do the same. Instead of spending the splost money for your king's projects lets take it and give it to the needy citizens of union county. Stock the food bank, give money to the meals on wheels program, expand the senior center. Help low income families pay for heat. Start a public transportation system to help those people get to and from their appointments. Use the money to contribute to the EMC's "project share", give Habitat for Humanity a million bucks, with donated land that should be enough to build around 10 new homes. Give money to local organizations like the american red cross (yes, I know Norm is involved with them but it's still a good cause), give money to the hospital to pay for indigent and low income medical service. And take the money that's left over and pay for a full time doctor that would provide services free of charge for low income people. Since doing that would naturally cause more low income people to move here add a requirement that only people who are UC residents as of a certain date can qualify for it. There's a SPLOST that I would certainly get a WARM feeling voting YES to! |

Haha, yes. I have no clue.
The real reason is, I have no reason to add to this story. It's already laughable as it is.
Truth is stranger than fiction, especially in this case.
