Sometime--most people think we live in a democracy when in fact we live in a republic. Although not the Republic we started out with.

Thank you Bubba. I believe you are correct. Do you think we should go to the trouble to identify which god we want to be under?

Thank you Bubba. I believe you are correct. Do you think we should go to the trouble to identify which god we want to be under? When you bring God into the equation, you open up a BIG can of worms. I'm gonna get blasted for saying this, but here goes:: The Jews, The Christians, The Muslins, and the Mormons all claim to have the same God. Yet their (our, my) thoughts on who God and Heaven are go to different extremes. Either God has many personalities or humans have diverse beliefs. I believe the latter. People believe what they wanna believe. Humans have a convoluted spirit that is never satisfied and will never be satisfied. The saying where 2 are gathered in my name can be applied to where 2 are gathered there is never agreement. Whether it's religion, government, sports, news, or anything you want to name, humans will disagree over some item or belief. I call that disagreement the damnation of humankind. But we have it and have to live with it. It even gives us reason to fight against what we see as wrong and evil. The problem is everyone sees differently. Nations have had wars over it, families split over it, brothers have killed over it, spouses have killed over it. The human race is the only living thing on earth, that we know of, that has the capacity, (and has done), to kill or maim millions of people, trees, animals, and the environment. Did the fall of mankind do this to us?? I don't think so because there was war even in heaven according to the Bible. Is it because we have the same type of spirit of heavenly beings?? If so, that might explain it. To get back to your original question; how do we identify the God of our nation when our nation and the world doesn't even know who God is?? I don't have the answer, I'm not sure anyone has the answer. Heck we don't even have the answer why people are ignorant about the politicians who have such an influence over our lives.
