Oscarwho had lunch with a deacon of certain church which opposes alcohol . Could not determine if any members are pursuing legal action against paris . They for sure want him out of office according to the gentleman I talked with .

Hey sometimeman: Really like the style you and wrangler use . Please : the two of you keep posting because I am learning as you post . I would guess both of you have been schooled by the best . I also think you have self taught yourselfs . There is a difference in teaching and training .

Thank you Mr. Roundtree. I try to teach myself as much as I can. As Gaundi said. "Live like you are dying; learn like you will live forever." .....not sure of the exact quote. It's quitten time. I'm going to the cave.
Okay. Mr. Oscar. I looked at the home page to see who owns the site.
As I explained to Admin, I get past that little guy with the bow tie and the down-south-accent as fast as I can. I guess that's why I missed who owns it.
Humm. I just saw Google search at the bottom. I sure missed that too.

Sorry Mr. Routree. I don't know what I was thinking. You were talking about Mr. Wrangler and Mr. Sometimeman. Anyway learning is a wonderful thing. Like Albert. E said, "Education is what is left over after you forget what you learned in school." I guess he was talking about being self-taught.

Yes it is true, Comm. Paris has had a change of heart and now is willing to allow use of courthouse for upcoming Republican Party Convention. We have discussed this within the Party and will continue with the alternative location that we committed to after his initial rejection for two reasons: We made another commitment and wish not to violate that commitment. And most significantly, given his actions lately, not one of the Executive Committee members are confident that there may not be some unexpected glitch at the last minute preventing its use.
Also on page #2 @ 9:25AM, I asked a question that no one has answered or even commented about. Why would any political party or local governing authority (Comm. Paris) have any legitimate need to have total control over any Board Of Elections other than to possibly affect the outcome of an election? Anyone???
Also on page #2 @ 1:14PM Honeybee asked Fairplay about a Board of Commissioners and I don’t believe it was answered. With no offense to either, I would like to respond. Union County is already divided into five School Districts that are subdivided into eleven Precincts. Personally, I would prefer that a five member commission be elected, one from each district and elected from each district exclusively as opposed to each being elected at large (county wide). The current School Board members (elected at large) supposedly represent their own districts, this should change also. I fail to see just how responsibly a current School Board member can diligently represent their own district when they may well have not received a majority of vote from their own district. What do you think?
I know some of you have had fun on here the past few days and that’s cool, but how about something more responsible now and then?

You know when I first moved here the school board members were elected from each district and were only voted on by that district. It changed because of apathy or laziness on the part of the public and blind trust of their leaders. We had a special election that was advertised as a way to save money on the school board elections. It was explained that we had elections as special elections and Carlton Colwell our legislator wanted to combine them with the general and do away with that extra expense. It was advertised that way to combine the school board elections and the general elections to cut down on the expense and other reasons. The other reason I found out later was to change and add the words "at large." Afterwards when I found it had been changed, I looked up all the advertisements leading up to the elections and nothing was said about the change. If only one person had taken the time to read the proposed law they could have tried to stop it. If I remember the count 159 people voted and one token absentee. Before someone starts calling me a liar again produce the add telling about the change and I will apologize. Sonny

How do you think we can make Union County better? Sometimeman told me, "We don't want it to be like Atlanta!" He is soooo right. I was born and raised Union County. Send your emails to manape@case2.com if you want to talk to me. My ancestors have lived in Union County for over a hundred years. I have known Lamar all my life. His mother taught in school. Do some of you remember speech class in that old dilapidated building where Mrs. Paris taught us. We affectionately called it Siberia? Haven't the leaders of our community built fine schools and now we even have North Georgia Technical to prepare our young people, but they can't stay here, because there aren't enough jobs. The republicans of this forum are against creating jobs into this county. |

Sonny. You lost me again. Now, who said you lied. You write like the rest of us are supposed to know what you are talking about. Do you mean the ad, as a news paper ad? Or add, as in 1 + 1 = 2
That doesn't add up to me. I sure hope they get that parking lot problem fixed?

When a legislator wants to pass a local bill he has to advertise that bill and the purpose a certain amount of times in the legal organ. He never put the real reason in the advertisements. The real reason was to change the way the school board members were elected. He wanted them elected at large instead of having each member being elected by their own district. It's all about control. This way a person could come from Suches say and not get a vote from that district and still win because he had a majority from the other districts
