My grandmother used to boil them (along with other "bony" parts) to make her chicken broth. The natural coloring in the feet give the broth a nice, rich yellow color.

Chicken poop stinks to all get out! Whatever they used in the fields to fertilize out this way was bad chicken poop!
Been trying to get packed up and get bills done for work. It's been a very busy week with both kids not around. Too bad I haven't been able to really enjoy some "down" time. Talked to nat on the phone about bidding on some work here. Took lil one to karate & came home to make dinner for some folks coming over. Just when I was taking the turkey gyro meat out of the oven, the power went out! Was out for about :45 min. Had some handy, dandy flashlights & candles on 'standby' to use. Hubby cooked hot dogs for the lil kids (she has a friend over) on the grill. All is well now & the Turkey gyros were a hit! Now, to chill out & enjoy some chat & a nice glass of vino!

Maddy if you think it stinks in the field you should smell it when it is in the chicken house. Especially during the winter with the curtains up. Whew !!! We need to try and get a walk or two in before the summer is over. Let me know when it will be a good time for you.

Doing errands, went up to the hiking store up yonder & hung out with hubby, went to vote, cvs, now waiting on big girl to show up from her 4-h camp. They should have been here by now. She'll be happy, I found her cell phone last night!

I went by Coosa Methodist church this morning. All the kids ( vacation bible school) were outside in their bathing suits. A firetruck was there and the fireman was hosing the kids down. It was really cute!!

Daughter is moving back in and of course, her kitten Simba, is coming with her. The kitten, a female, is is such a pretty thing! She has a really pretty mottled coat and is still tiny! She is currently sitting on my neck while I'm typing this! Anyways, Be-Bop swears that she won't be giving us a grandchild, so she says this is our "grand-kitty"! Hampton, our dog, isn't too fond of her yet. She hasn't really bothered her, but is still at the curious stage. I do hope they will get along. Hampton is also quit jealous! This afternoon, Sonny went to take a nap and took Simba with him. Hampton kind of stood at the door, kept looking back at me and whined! When I went into the bedroom a few minutes later, this is what I found! From the looks of it, I think my new "grand-kitty" will fit right in!

cute kitty, Taylor. My dear husband is still out cutting grass, so I don't know if we are going out to eat or not. He has not come into talk to me yet!

What a week at our house!!! Today was the worst day of the week. I was at work attempting to make my move complete and I got a hysterical call from baby girl! Before I even said hello I could hear her screaming momma! momma! She had been in a wreck. Thankfully it was a single car accident and she wasn't hurt. He car on the other hand is most likely totaled. She is gonna be doin some hurtin tomorrow. She smacked some trees pretty hard. I really hope that drama is over at our house for a good long while.

Love the kitty Taylor. My cat looks just like her, but he is more like her great great grand fathers age. I almost had a grand puppy, but he turned into my son. LOL

Ana, so sorry to hear about this! I know she must have been scared, and you absolutely frantic! Thank God she is ok. Cars can be replaced - kids can't!
