That is good news, Twyla... only problem when a kid is doing so much better than others his/her age: keeping them interested in what is going on! They get bored at school so easily.

Just got an email from the owner of the magazine I write for. He sent me a draft of the "atta-boy" he's going to print in the magazine! Sure made me feel good!
In mid 2004 I was fortunate enough to become acquainted with Gran’ma Gertie, a.k.a. Dorothy Taylor. Her feature article in every issue has become one of the most favorite and looked forward to items. When I am able to actually get out of the office and into the stores that carry our magazine, I seek the feedback of the people. As the President and CEO of Going South Sportsman, I want to know what the people like, what they don’t like, and what suggestions they may have. The most complimented item is undoubtedly Gran’ma Gertie.
Gran’ma Gertie is simply a salt-of-the-earth, down home kind of character that almost everyone can relate to. She pulls no punches, candy coats nothing, has a tendency to really make you think and all the while making you smile or nod your head in agreement. She’s a part of everyone’s grandmother, aunt or old family friend. She is the type you could feel comfortable leaving your children with for an afternoon, or one you could enjoy an evening with just sitting on her front porch, drinking a glass of iced tea and discussing the news of the day. She has a unique spark about her that combines her wit and wisdom with the memories of an interesting life. Many of our readers have said they feel almost as if they know her personally, just from reading her columns.
I’ve heard it said that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. I have come across a few instances where Gran’ma Gertie was imitated, but never duplicated. There is only one Gran’ma Gertie, and I am pleased that she is with us. As Gertie herself would say – ‘Till next time…..

It is absolutely beautiful outside today! I got off work at 1, ran an errand and will be doing housework this afternoon. I talked to my sister earlier... they have had over 20 inches of snow since Dec 1! I'm dancing 'cuz we don't have that terrible ice storm so much of the country is getting!
