Haven't been on much, too busy here at work. But I'm going to try to be here more often. I was reading the tread about the picking party last night, and started missing all you guys!

I'm dancing and thanking God right now because my little one is alive. She keeps saying I can't believe I'm alive, I can't believe I'm alive! I told her I knew why...the GRACE OF GOD! If the tree had hit the driver door rather than the rear passenger door, she would have been seriously if not fatally injured.
There is a song we sang as children, I have been singing it all afternoon.
God is so good, God is so good, He's so good to me! God answers prayers, God answers prayers, He's so good to me.
After everything that has gone wrong this week, I'm grateful I can still say God is so good to me!

Went to the house of Karen and Billy ( the picker's from the party) last night and listened to the tape they made of the "Party at the Honeybear Lodge" song! LOL It's a riot! I'm suppose to have a cd by the time we go up next week. Some of you will have to hear it!

Had a real thunder boomer a while ago with plenty of rain. Good thing is it cooled things down by 10 degrees. 80 is always better than 90!

Summer, I have got to get out and get some berries picked. I am just dying to make a blackberry cobbler. I don't eat them, but I love to make them. I am also going to make some blackberry juice. This needs to be under home remedies, but blackberry juice is great for an upset stomach. Like to keep it on hand for sipping when the stomach virus visits.

Sadly, not enough rain this spring and all our berries were hard little knots. We had checked the bushes early and they were covered with blooms! If the rain had came, I'd have had more berries than I knew what to do with. No berries for me this year

There is a place about 2-3 miles from me that has more blackberry bushes in one spot than I've ever seen! Blackberries are the most common, though if you know where to look, you can sometimes find blueberries, wild strawberries and a few huckleberries. Often, the weather dictates what we have.

I understand. It is the same way up here. Everything is dependent on the weather. I love wild strawberries. They never make it to my house. LOL!! Blackberries on the other hand, I can pick'em on the road side, in the pasture or on the creek bank and never eat a one. About four or five summers ago I picked 15 gallons and gave them all away. I was purple for six weeks. I haven't been to the pasture yet, but it looks like the ones on the road will be plentiful. That is if I get to them before the birds do. Don't think I will go to the creek this year. Copperheads have been really bad around the house this year, I'd rather not take a chance.
