Boy, it was a busy night last night! Got home from work after 7 pm. Cleaned out the inside of my car a little bit. With all the long days I have had, the back seat was starting to get pretty cluttered. I didn't wash the entire outside, but did get the bugs off the front and the windshield and cleaned the inside of the windows. While I was outside, I heard the biggest racket coming from a hole in a hickory tree in the front yard. I got the binoculars out and looked and could see a baby raccoon coming to the edge of the hole... I was wondering where mama raccoon was since it was still daylight. Well, the poor little fella ended up falling out of the hole and landed in the dirt about 30 foot down! I waited a little bit to see if mama would come get it and nothing happened. It was still alive and kicking, althoug it seemed a bit stunned. I picked it up with a towel... poor little fella didn't even have his eyes open yet! Hunny got home and we wrapped it in the towel and hung it in a basket as high up on the tree as we could. We went out and checked on it several times up until almost midnight, and it was still in the basket. This morning, it is gone. I just hope mama found him and took him back in the nest. The only injury I had seen was a small cut on his upper lip, and he was moving all his limbs, so I hope it was ok. I know some people will say, "It's only a raccoon," and there are lots more out there. But that is not the way I am! After the raccoon rescue, we had left overs from the cookout for supper, I started cleaning out the pantry, then I balanced 2 checkbooks and did some bills. Next thing I knew it was after 11!

BB, how special!! We used to have racoons come up to our door in MN. Pretty soon, "Ricky" came up with 6 lil ones. We got so used to them that one day, a lil one came in the house & I was eating ice cream. I dipped my finger in the bowl & let him lick my finger! My mom was horrified & said, "do you realize what you're doing?" I just thought of it like one of the kitty kats. It went right back outside to momma!!!

I like raccoons too. They use to sleep in the kitty bed on our front porch at the house on the river. Last night, we went to home depot and looked for tile for an hour. Then we went to Cobb's and to Ingles to get some corn on the cob!! Gary is craving it.

Just wait 'til your baby is almost 35 like mine! Where did the time go? ?!?!?!?!?!?! Update on the baby raccoon... this evening I saw something moving in the hole in the tree... it is an adult raccoon pretty much blocking the entrance. I sure hope it is mama and she has "Free-fall." That's what I am calling him!

Free Fall I like it! Sounds like a rock band.
Last night's weather was great. Felt like a beautiful fall day.
Cleaned out the mildew motel and it is bright and shining, evaluated the canvas and it isn't as bad as I remembered it. Going to hit some spots with X-14 and watch the fuzzy blue and green fade away. Found a water leak and got it fixed. Vac'd it out, wiped down the counters, front of counters, floor, shower and potty with bleach. Sprayed Lysol on the mattress coverings, curtains and rugs.
Trying to talk grumpy into taking the screen, snap on room. We haven't ever attached it, so it would be nice.

We went to Murphy to look and order tile. Then we went to Mike's for supper, but the place was full, no booths. So we went to Cobb's Mill. It was full there too. Full of Colwells. They took up about 6 tables, but we managed to find a booth.

We went up to Jesup around noon and spent yesterday afternoon/early evening with my brother. Had a nice visit, saw his new mobile home, we all went to eat, to Kmart and Beall's before dropping him off and heading home.
Got home and watched some tv, fixed me a couple scrambled eggs for a light supper, a bit more tv (Deadliest Catch) and headed to bed around 11.

After sitting up the bee yard and posting my number online, I waited for a call that never came in.

After sitting up the bee yard and posting my number online, I waited for a call that never came in. And it never will. A few people just like to stir the pot because they have no life. Ignore them entirely and they usually just fade away.
