OK OLD TIMERS
begins with newly hired governess Victoria Winters arriving at Collinwood, the Collins' estate in Collinsport, Maine in search of her mysterious origins. She soon is caught up in the strange events and mysteries that seem to surround the Collins family. Eventually, the Collins' "cousin from England", Barnabas Collins, arrives and takes the show in a new direction; his vampire curse introduces a new history of the Collins family. Part of this revised history is the popular character of the witch Angelique whose jealously led to the tragic death of Barnabas' great love Josette and who placed the curse upon Barnabas.

I believe this show was the first soap operas and my sitter use to watch it all the time.
Would love to have copies of it on DVD.

Yep, that is it.
I vaguely remember as a little girl seeing that stormy cliff scene on the TV as I would go through the sitting area. I was always told it was a show for big people not children. But she watched it religiously.
Strange how something like that stays with you.

Dark Shadows was great. It came on at 4 just when the kids were getting home from school.
I can still hear the theme music. The "door" between the two histories was at the top of the front hallway stairs.

Oh I loved Dark Shadows! I also love your new avatar WOM. I'm not going to get hooked here though. I could be in trouble with this subject.

They have a n audio file of it on the web too.
There is even a following of it and everything.
Because it was filmed live bloopers and all were in it.
