I've cut way back over there. For a time like bb didn't post anything. I still look at it, but this forum is like bb said, you don't have to worry about getting your ears slapped back.

I've noticed that those who do post over there (me included), are a little more "standoffish" and "reserved" than over here. It kinda takes away from ones personality, and you don't get to know that person. Just my opinion.

I agree with ya'll. I do read over there and I even post once in a while. It's sad that the admin over there feels the need to be so tight-a**ed. I have seen too many occasions where they were simply not fair in their judgments. Too many rules, WAY too much favoritism, and all their "moderating" just makes it boring....very very boring! It is nothing like it was when I first found the site when I was still in Colorado.
It seems like they just want to portray Blairsville as a sing-song, la-di-dah fantasy land - you know, everyone gets along all the time, no problems, no differing opinions, no disorder. They even deleted the grrs and errs topic. I think they need a reality check. Everything and everyday is not peaches & cream.
As long as what you post agrees with the admin (or whatever name they're using at the time) then there's no problem. But, watch out if you disagree or post something they don't like. I've been jumped a couple times over there. I remember when they jumped me about the Christopher Barrios murder last year - I was told it didn't pertain to Blairsville, so didn't need to be posted. Huh? It really bothered me because I thought what touched one "family member" touched another, besides the fact that a couple of the posters over there are from Brunswick too. Oh, well.
Sure, I'm like everyone else, there are times when someone says something that rubs me the wrong way. That's life - it's normal. We all have our likes and dislikes. We all have opinions and ideas. Just because they are different than someone else's does not mean they are wrong. I feel a lot more at ease here and don't feel like I have to be "choosy" in what I say. Whether it's posting something silly on "The Island", or something more serious in nature.
All in all, I think I'll just stay put here.

There is a lot more freedom on this site and that's the way it should be. It's kinda like you have to act like you're a kid in church over there. Over here, you're home from church, got your play clothes on, and running out the door to play with your friends!

Taylor, you hit the nail on the head! I exhalt you! Over here I do feel that I can be silly and make sometimes rude (and I mean rude as in funny) and maybe a little off-color remarks, and we don't seem to get offended. Because you kinda know the personality of the posters a little better due to the freedom we have here. ;D

I think we're too tough to get offended! Kinda reminds me of the name calling stuff when we were kids - someone too easily offended was called a "pansy-a**" , a panty-waste' or a candy-a**"  As for the "off-color" stuff, the real world is NOT all black & white! Ya gotta have color! Even if it is a bit off! Besides, laughter is the best medicine, right? ;D ;D AND - Thanks for the exault!! Taylor, Tessa, Twyla, bb, Mac, Natalie, Summer, Ruby, and 2CC (and all the others), we are sure glad that you are on here. I do feel funny posting over there. It is like someone said, like I have walked in the door and everyone quit talking!! Oh and I missed Maddy, sorry, Maddy!! Oh and tulip too!! When she moves here, we are going to be RB's together!! Right Tulip!!??
