OK December 7th is a benefit for a little girl. It will be at the Civic Center and grumpy is donating honey to be auctioned off. The article is in this week's paper and is for a good cause and we will be attending even thought we don't know them. I encourage all of you to stop by, even if it's for a brief moment and bid on something or get a plate of food to help with this baby's medical expenses. We plan on going...and I'm hoping that many others will as well!! It starts at 6:00.

Hopefully it will be in the paper again this week.
We met the grandmother this week and gave her the honey in case something happened and we couldn't get there. Unless something big happens we are going. With Ruby there at least we will know somebody.
C'mon ya'll just drop by and get a plate of something or bid on something. I sure hope someone donates a homemade coconut cake. We were at one benefit a couple of years ago and I dropped out at $30.00. Come to find out the guy who bought it, his wife had made it and wouldn't make him one. I have actually been in a couple of bidding wars for a good coconut cake.

QueenBee, What time is the event for the little girl at the Civic Center on December 7th? A friend from the other forum & myself would like to show our support. What time will this event be going on? Thanks, Avalanche (I see from a previous post....that the event will begin around 6:00pm) Thanks!

My buds were there. Sorry we didn't win the gun but the lady behind us did. At the end of the event they sold all of the tickets that were left for $200.00. Figured the guy who bought them would knock us out but he didn't.
Too bad a lot of y'all didn't make it. I snuck in a quick donation of $20 and got a homemade coconut cake, I am so lucky.
A 3 layer cake went for $105.00 WOW! I explained to my buds Avalanche and SueDownThe road that a good homemade cake can go for high prices. Those cakes were flying out of there for $35 and up. I am glad they decided to auction them off instead of using them for the cake walk.
Grumpy won us a year free membership to the gym at Murphy with the covered pool and workout area. Lilred was ecstatic, now she can swim anytime.
Chloe and her mom called and said Thanks to everyone who was there and they appreciated the turn out. The funny guy helping with the auction said that they would be having another one in January.
It was fun, fun, fun and for an excellent cause.
We got there a little after 6:00 and stayed until 10:30.
I also won a 3 level bird feeder.
