Telecommunications company AT&T updated its terms of service for its DSL customers recently with an interesting addition: the company will now suspend the accounts of those who talk badly of it. The new line reads that service may be suspended if a customer's comments "tends to damage the name or reputation of AT&T, or its parents, affiliates and subsidiaries." Customers may find the move somewhat troubling, especially considering the telecom's involvement in the warrantless wiretapping scandal that rocked the Bush adminstration in 2005. While the company tried to play down its involvement, it also altered its privacy policy to try to claim ownership over the personal information that customers provide to it. AT&T had no immediate comment on the change to its policies.

I would say that their service around Blairsville sucks but if they find out they might turn my phone off!

I wish they would suspend mine, the coverage it terrible, I would love to go to Verizon. But I have a year left on my contract and would have to buy out to go now.

They would have blocked me BIG TIME last month if they hadn't of solved my problem!! LOL My phone, which is a "blackjack" just all of a sudden was out of area, no service, dropped calls, zero bars of service...Called, got a replacement under my warranty and they sent me a "refurbished" phone. It had so much static on it, I had to send it right back to them. It probalby helped that I called in on that bad line to let them know that their phone sucked!! I told the next guy I talked to that I wouldn't take another refurbished phone and I'd send it back to them if it was. He must have gotten the message. We've had no other issues, but they are that BIG company that control is the name of the game. I hate that kind of company, but I'm tied for another year with them.

The unfortunate thing about it is that there isn't a better alternative. Verizon used to be the best around here but not anymore. I wish T-mobile would offer service here, they have a pretty good reputation.

We recently took a trip up the Blue ridge parkway and didn't have service the whole way. In Blowing Rock they worked, in Buena Vista, Virginia they worked. The folks with us had service at every over look. Mine won't even work at my house.

You don't want T-Mobile. My son finally cancelled his account with them, what a racket.
They cut his phone off and we called to cancel his service, they charged us a $20.00 fee to cut the phone back on to cancel the acocunt.
1 hour and 45 minutes later they did not have a happy camper on their phone. But finally got it straightened out.

AT & T told us that the phone we got was not a good one and was the problem with our reception. Trouble is we both have two year contracts and the options they gave us is replace the phones with two just like them. Or we can buy two more at full price and take the chance they will work better. I have an old LG that I got way back when, It works fine much better reception but the sim card won't show up all my numbers from this new phone. I guess I m gonna have to make a list and add all the numbers back using the old phone. I thought that was why they had sim cards.

Mac I am going to have to get a new phone soon and instead of signing another contract I think I will just buy one off of Ebay.

Well according to the store here in town and the customer service dept. you don't want a Samsung, I actually was told the Nokia in the best choice and motorola the second. Makes me feel really good, ya know. They had no opinion on an LG, which was my previous one and liked it and it worked much better.

LG seems to work really good and have better signal strength.

Of course an external antenna will always improve reception.
