Louisiana State coach Les Miles might have moved one step closer Wednesday to succeeding Lloyd Carr as Michigan's coach. LSU granted U-M athletic director Bill Martin permission to talk with Miles about the job, LSU assistant AD Herb Vincent told the Free Press. Miles has a $1.25-million buyout that applies to taking the U-M job. LSU is expected to present Miles with a lucrative offer to remain in Baton Rouge.
