Though high, several of those salaries are comparable in other school districts. According to CNNMoney, the average assistant principal makes $72,000 per year. The average Principal makes over $73,500, and 25% of Principals make over $89,700. If a principal has close to 30 years experience, and a Specialist or Doctoral degree, which most of ours have, their salaries will be on par with the rest of the nation.
My question is: Where is the other $35 million going? I think they used to put a breakdown of the budget in the local paper. Is that still practiced?
