Has the city started selective enforcement of their junk ordinance? It's funny to me that a defeated mayoral candidate who wasn't exactly adored by the people has been cited for violating the ordinance while a wealthy business owner who owns a pawn shop in the trashiest looking building in the city has not. There are 3-4 cars and an old bus in the parking lot there that are not tagged and likely are inoperable, I thought abandoned cars were prohibited under the ordinance? And drive right on up the road and look at the plie of construction equipment and junk on the left side of the bi-lo parking lot. I thought construction refuse and equipment was prohibited under the ordinance also? The ordinance was probably made with good intentions, but unfortunately it looks like the mayor and city council have started using selective enforcement to go after their enemies. I once said that the ordinance should go county wide, now I realize that I was wrong in having that opinion since it will only result in more control for the commissioner and his "special friends".

Does anyone know why some people are being cited and others are not? Has the mayor and city council been paid off or something?

Short, my guess as to why would be small town politics. Just wait till you find out some people pay property tax and some don't!

It all depends on how much money you've got and who your friends are I guess. I thought that the mayor and city council actually cared about the city but evidently they are just like Liemar, they only care about padding their pockets and helping their "friends".

The beauty of a Republic is there are laws. In order for each citizen to receive equal treatment, the law must be enforced. This don't happen in the Great State of Georgia. The Judiciary doesn't function!
