I have a question for the political savvy here. How do the mayor and city council work together? Is their relationship like that of the school superintendent and school board or something entirely different? Also since it seems like the mayor and city council are at odds with each other over the junk ordinance so I would like to know how everyone feels about their job performances? I personally have a neutral opinion about the mayor, I've never talked with him but I think he should have to follow the law just like everyone else when it comes to cleaning up his junk. I rode by the house that he owns that is across the road from the old middle school, from what I see he could easily clean it up. The roof of the porch has fell but the rest of the house looks good, if he would clean up the mess from the porch and throw a coat of paint on the place it would look fine. My opinion of the city council is very positive, I know three members of the council personally and they are good people.

The city council evidently likes the mayor because they doubled his salary. I don't see why a city of a few hundred people would need a full time mayor. Oh well, now maybe he will have enough money to fix up his junky house.
