I always like when I hear those people who are riding the system tell you that they couldn't pay for their childs field trip at school, but they sure as heck got to the circle K to buy their cigs! Gotta make sure you got your puffs so they can sit on their ass all day and complain how their done wrong by the world.

M4M. Cigs killed my mother. She didn't drink. She was a good Christian. I just wish the local Churches would go after the additions to nicotine, meth, and other drugs as they do the addiction to alcohol.

It's the children who suffer. They didn't ask to be born into dysfunctional families. I'm thankful that some like Fairydust came out of the hell her parents created. Thank God, she had others in her family who cared. Some are not so lucky. Reality is we need to help the innocent children who are trapped and the adults who want to be helped. By help I mean freedom from the addiction that affects us all, as a civilized society. The problem is that all of us are affected by the drug addicts on our highways. One statistic I read says 1 out of 10 people on the roads are either addicted to the drug alcohol or other drug(s). I think the reason for testing adults on welfare is to help them get out of the cycle. Yes, we can call the adults lazy, won't work, or whatever. The bottom line is the problem needs to be solved and we need to help break the cycle. Fairydust has inspired me to try to do something. I can start by trying to helping my young niece who is addicted to drugs. Children of an addicted parent need positive-adult role models. If you want to help break the cycle, be a positive influence for a young person. Manape, thats exactly the intentions, I AM PROUD OF YOU FOR BEING THE ONE TO STEP UP TO BAT FOR YOUR NEICE... There are many kids who do not have to take the same roads and keep on enduring a very destructive life.. they need positive role models... and they also need to be shown that they CAN STAND A CHANCE.. that welfare is not a clutch or means to LIFE.. and that LIFE means LIVING not dying slowly.. and not trying to get from people what and ALL that they can.. but to give back what they can.. by being positive impacts and making changes in the world and earning GOODNESS,.. soulful and of course earnestly.. The future depends on the children.. and the more and more drugs interfere with familys.. dependant in all sences parents teach their children ( letting them know that they will love them and that they are wanted, loved and there for them is parental dependancy that I personally feel is what parents should teach their children to be dependant on IF ANYTHING)..the dependant on others tho and I do mean DFACS and others as in STATE AND CHURCHES AND FRIENDS OR STRANGERS to do everything for them, the less and less hopeful the future will be if we do not have these bright and intellegent kids who hide behind it because they feel they arent worthy.. when THEY ARE and are capable of achieving what they set forth.. There are people who are slack and who are lazy and who are dependant and thinks that everyone or the world should do for them.. you add drug dependancy to that.. and that is what these kids see.. Its never too late to make good come forth.. to make the change.. its closer than people even realize to being made a done deal to do better..

Cigs & poor diet killed my grandmother too Manape. I hate those things. I hate it that my husband dips. It hurts my heart to see him do it, but it is an addiction. We have the meth clinic here to help and they the DARE team is great for our school system, but there's some kinks in their program because they haven't updated the info to include Meth. It's the "old" drugs they are focused on in the book, not the "new" drugs. Update the books!!!

I saw a picture of a woman that had been taking meth for a year, and it was scary how much she had aged....her hair and teeth had fallen out and she was a bag of wrinkles. She was only 30 years old!!

What aggravates me is unwed welfare mothers.
1 baby leads to 2, and 2 leads to 3 and they are a leech on the system forever.
Children having children and parents having to raise them. Knowing who the father is and loving each other enough to have sex but not enough love to marry.
Why am I posting this? Cause as a taxpayer I am paying for the child and most likely the mother. Heck in some cases I am paying for the father who will shack up but won't marry because they will lose their money.
One guy came to interview at a job where my husband works and calculated he couldn't go to work there because he would make to much money and lose his welfare.
I think they should have a 40 hour week job to help themselves instead of being Dependant on the working people.
Welfare usually breeds welfare. If they were raised on it then they will depend on it.
Not all, but most.
I think they should be allowed welfare and the benefits of it for a certain amount of months then kick them off.

I think anyone on welfare should keep a job.. there are alot that arent teens that abuse the system and their parents hand to them till they are in the poor house and their credit is ruined.. youre right! I think so too.. People who stay on it for years specially! 10 yrs is a bit much huh!

There are too many able bodied women and men that are leeches of the system and MY and YOUR tax dollars. I believe that workfare should be something instituted US wide. All of "them" should have to put in a 40 hour week doing some kind of construstive work. It might be picking tomatos, picking beans, picking up trash on the highways, cleaning public buildings, any kind of construstive work. If they don't like the work they are assigned: Then find something you like and loose your welfare benefits, or let them quit work and loose their welfare benefits. Just quit paying the freeloading lowlifes. Once again (I have stated this before) I realize there are cases when welfare is needed and should be provided. But not for sorry, lazy people or sorry lazy druggy people. Bet I get smitted for this!

I don't think guest can smite you, I think you have to be a member. But it's ok cause we are in agreement.
It should be temporary help for who needs it, not a life support system.
