THE LIE OF THE CENTURY
A recently declassified memo proves that the State Department reported the fact that the Niger documents were forgeries to the CIA 11 days before President Bush made the claim about the Niger uranium based on those documents.
What the US Government had, ALL that they had, were copied student papers, forged "Yellow Cake" documents, balloon inflators posing as bioweapons labs, and photos with misleading labels on them. And somewhere along the line, someone decided to put those misleading labels on those photos, to pretend that balloon inflators are portable bioweapons labs, and to pass off stolen student papers as contemporary analysis.
And THAT shows an intention to deceive.
Lawyers call this "Mens Rea", which means "Guilty Mind". TV lawyer shows call it "Malice aforethought". This means that not only did the Bush Administration lie to the people and to the US Congress, but knew they were doing something illegal at the time that they did it.

The Constitution, the original "Contract with America", does not authorize the government to lie to the people. The 10th amendment prohibits the government from assuming that authority.
Therefore, when the government lies, it acts illegally and unconstitutionally. It ceases to be the legal government and instead becomes a bunch of individuals acting in their self-interest pretending to be the government.
The President is an office, not the man or woman in that office. George Bush is the President when and ONLY when he acts within the legal limits of that office. Contrary to Dick Nixon's view, Presidents are not empowered to commit criminal acts with impunity, as Dick himself finally learned.
Therefore, the instant Bush lied to us all about Iraq's 'nookular' bombs, he ceased to be the President of the United States, because by virtue of the lie, he acted outside the scope of the President's authority. That alone makes these wars illegal, and the people are neither legally nor morally obligated to support those wars, or pay for them, or send their children to die in them.
5 years is enough. At least a million people are dead. Many more crippled. 4000 Americans (maybe more; who can trust the official numbers) are dead, thousands more crippled for life. Our economy teeters on the edge of collapse, and the United States' reputation in the world is in the gutter.
Enough is enough.
