PROPERTY TAX RETURNS

IF you own property in the State of Georgia, you are supposed to file a return, on your property with the tax accessors, each year . When you don't the accessor files the return for you.

I never understood why.
After reading some from web site below I understand when you file this return, you are placing your property on contract to the State to stand good for your share of the cost of government.

What's this, the Republicans aren't going to jump on this to bash the commissioner about property tax?

I expect the repubs have enough ammunition against the commisar with high taxes, lies to the people about property assessments, telling the people Union has low taxes compared to other counties, taking away the vote from the people, not delivering on promises made in 2003 about the present splost, over paying for the courthouse addition, not rendering services for higher taxes, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, and etc.
