This has got to be the strangest topic I've read so far. Mind you, I have eaten at funerals before but I've never thought about it being frugal. Strange!

HB's not a strange bee, she is just a funny bee. She can shore come up with some funny tales. Figure this one out. No looking.

Wonder what that CC woman on the other forum has to say about your title? She is constantly bragging about how frugle she is.

Manape, that would be "2b or not 2b" But that is the question, isn't it? BTW, I did look, but only to make the quote down there.
"To be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep; No more; and by a sleep to say we end The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep; To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub; For in that sleep of death what dreams may come When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pause: there's the respect That makes calamity of so long life; For who would bear the whips and scorns of time, The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely, The pangs of despised love, the law's delay, The insolence of office and the spurns That patient merit of the unworthy takes, When he himself might his quietus make With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear, To grunt and sweat under a weary life, But that the dread of something after death, The undiscover'd country from whose bourn No traveller returns, puzzles the will And makes us rather bear those ills we have Than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all; And thus the native hue of resolution Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought, And enterprises of great pith and moment With this regard their currents turn awry, And lose the name of action. - Soft you now! The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons Be all my sins remember'd."
William Shakespeare - To be, or not to be (from Hamlet 3/1)

Honeybee.. not everyone can eat at funerals.. or find humor in funerals.. I read what you wrote on the other forum and I agree that southern folks do cook well.. and provide well at these times..
If you made this statement at a funeral with people who are mourning, it may make some smile and feel better.. take away the pain or ease it.. but it may HURT someone too.. Specially if the focus is on food. People take things differently, and people have different intentions..
Butt Floss.. nah.. it says Floss.. I do not know if I know her or not.. but I know that Floss is a southern slang for southern gal too.. and you voiced your thought publically.. to be taken and respected.. I respect Floss and Manicu.. and my own feelings as well..
Like I said, if you entended humor.. some people found it I am sure.. and some found it to be at the cost of a loved ones death you MAY have been referring to.
If you do not care about how we react.. than pay it no mind.. it does not matter anyways.

If it upsets someone then they shouldn't read it.
You and others post things I don't like so I don't read them. I was responding to a direct comment to me. You should know that that's ok to do, because you have posted it several times.
Why do you care what I post to Floss?
If you don't like it then don't read it.

I think funerals should be celebrations of life. I understand why HB's post can cause pain for the living. HB travels to the beat of a different drummer. Bee Girl, I see you behind that computer screen. Come on now, show us a little of that southern sensitivity. It's group hug time.
