I think there is more crime in this area than people realize. It's just not reported in the new paper, which is what this thread is all about! I have heard more about what is happening on the forums than in the paper. When there was a rash of burglaries, it was the forums that reported it. Not until there was an arrest did the NGN have anything about it and that was after the crimes had been going on for a while!

It is safe to say that there is very little real news coverage for this area. To look at what we do have, you would think there was little crime. Compared to the big city, that is true. But we do have our share. It is only right that we know what is going on so we can take certain precautions to protect ourselves, our property and our loved ones. An informed public can also help law enforcement. If we know the description of a certain suspect/vehicle involved, and happen to see someone or vehicle matching that description, a call to the appropriate LE agency just may end up with an arrest!

In most cases, it is the concerned public or a witness to a crime that informs the proper authorties of it happening. They, (us), are the ones who make it possible for those commmitting the crimes to have a nice comfortable concrete/steel home. They usually don't get convicted without someones testimony. Gotta stay involved in the community and one way is to stay informed by the local media of problems like the above mentioned. If you don't know about the problems, can;t take preventative measures to stop them before they happen. Too bad local Gov.(as well as national) are not proactive enough to address these problems in a progressive fashion as opposed to just spending our tax dollars on larger prisons. Of course I guess we have to seeing that we have the largest prison population in th world.

A newspaper isn't a gossip forum. Any loser in the world can post some crap on a forum like this So the murder didn't really happen, it's just gossip that was started here? but if you want to know the truth you still have to read it in a credible newspaper like the NGN. Haha, I see that you have a good sense of humor. I'm sure the paper had a good reason for holding off on printing the story. Then educate us, what is the "good reason"? Unlike the NGN the Sentinel doesn't print rumors, lies and untruths. There, I fixed your post for you. Anyone care to bet against the fact that next week, the NGN will have COMPLETE and ACCURATE coverage and if the Sentinel has anything at all it will just be them writing about some rumors they heard? Bring it on.

I noticed Lamar's Q & A column this week is nothing but a campaign ad... one he didn't have to pay for.
