Harold's biggest mistake was letting Norm run all over him.
I don't believe Melick would tolerate Norm's antics.

you know I'm not one to stick up for Norm, but y'all have it wrong, especially on the front page. He did not do this act at the board meeting. It was behind closed doors to a board member (who he could intimidate) and then the board decided "HA, HA!" we're not going to fall into this crap of a mess with him and we'll go with both companies.
Get it right & report it right!!!

This website cares nothing about the truth. Its lies are believed by a handful of malcontents who do society a favor by spending time on here rather than out in the public. Its support of a political candidate is pure hypocrisy considering what it accuses the paper of.
For example, "Melick deflects controversy"
Justin Melick, Republican candidate for commissioner seems to have successfully shrugged off a stream of attacks from Lamar Paris supporters, blah blah blah. The site also characterizes him as the "Favorite Son" of Union County. "Unwanted Trespasser" is more like it.
His latest work in the blairsvillecity "magazine" is yet another laughable example of what his focus is. While anyone with half a brain has publicly challenged him to provide specifics on his campaign platform, he ignores the requests in order to spend his time making silly videos and now write a fictional series.
Can you imagine if he ever became commissioner? "Whoopsie, sorry Union County. I know I forgot to apply for that $250,000 grant that we could have easily gotten if I'd just filled out the paperwork, but I found a better way to spend taxpayer money. Look, I made this great video to show off my lack of acting ability instead.
What a vain little dunce he is. THANK YOU for running Mr. Cook. There is no need to prolong this absurdity to November. We need someone to put this little clown in his place sooner than that.

Sounds like ironman, with his little comic books, is experiencing some envy! Clearly Justin can get a lot done simultaneously. That is good commissioner material. And he couldn't do any worse than Lamar at forgetting things and neglecting the county.

You know a community leader with a sense of humor is more apt to look at a situation in more than one way before making a decision.
It also makes him more appealing to the general public.
If he also has a creative side in addition to his business side then it shows a broad interest not just self centered on what he can do for himself instead of others.
A hobby is good therapy, a lot better then keeping it all in or finding way's to screw people over. Running around looking for backstabbers and investing in conspiracy theories.
It also shows a sensitive side, a good point to have in community involvement. It makes you more appealing to the public then to come across looking like a hard case.
If you care about your community then they care about you, if you are just concerned with the bottom line and who can get you closer to the top by greasing palms and smooching tail, then you aren't valuable to the community at all.
You need to be a likeable person.
