Hey ya'll, just wanted to let you know a bout a free program i have been using for awhile.
It's called Search and Recover 4 by Iolo. It's main purpose is to allow you to recover accidentally deleted files, that is not what I use it for.
Every picture file, notice, ad and all garbage is saved on your hard drive. When you run the cleaner programs it only deletes the files it doesn't actually remove them. So I run Search and Recover to find all of the deleted files, I don't need anymore including junk and I have it terminate them. Therefore freeing up space on my computer and speeding it up.
I am currently in the process of terminating 17,103 junk files from my hard drive. When it is finished I will run it again to make sure it got everything.
If you want to recover a lost file you can use it free for 3 recoveries. As long as you don't recover any files, you can use it forever to clean the hard drive. A secret I discovered but they don't advertise.
I just have it search my hard drive, select all files it finds and then terminate them. Which means they are gone, not in the recycle bin but POOF!
