Hey guys just wanted to say thanks to the two gentlemen that helped my mother, & sister at Home Depot a few weeks back. They had bought some sheet rock for a project at home. The employees mulled around & never offered to help them load the sheet rock into the vehicle. It was two customers from the parking lot that offered help & loaded it for them. I just wanted to say thanks to people that do help when customer service is thrown out to the dogs.

I noticed when I first moved hear that Home Depot custimer Service was terrible. They got me so made that I never went in there fot over a year. stuck with Ace or Lowes. Recently, my one boss who is in her 70's and has back issues went there to buy some big bags of mulch and river rock pebbles. The cashier called for someone to help her load it in her car. When the dude got there, he helped some very able bodied man load something up, then went to gather carts, leaving her standing there! She finally just handled it herself, like so many women will do! And they wonder why sales are down and the parking lot is empty half the time!

I have to shop there because we run out of things while building and I get to be the gofer. They left me standing once for about 15 minutes, made several calls for help and I finally told them I was going to grab that phone from them and make my own announcement and it wouldn't be very nice. They grabbed two guys from the service desk to load me.
One way to get back on the service - look at the bottom of your receipt. Go on line to give them their customer service rating. They want you to go on there to give a good review. Well, tell it like it really is!

The way Home Depot is looking in Atlanta they will be shutting down or going to half shifts soon. Besides they got that new high dollar quarerback that Arthur Blank has to support for the next 4 years.

Summer I completely understand where you are coming from. I myself have a friend that works there. The only thing is 2 nice guys that are helpful out of the whole store is not helping their customer service rep if the other 15 are not doing their jobs.

Personally I've noticed a slight improvement in their customer service lately. Did they get a new manager or something? I really prefer Lowe's.

Gary goes there almost every day. We spend thousands of dollars there monthly. Why don't they have someone in each dept. to specialize in that dept? When Gary is buying tile and grout, he will go over and help other customers pick out what they need, cause the employees don't have a clue. They need to hire a plumber, an electrician, a builder, a tile man, etc. etc.
Also, whatever you need it usually up on the top, with nothing stocked that you can get to. I use to buy Home Depot stock. I sold all of my stock and I am glad I did!!

I don't like going to Home Depot either, it seems like most of the employees go out of their way to try to keep from having to help you. I buy alot from Ace and Highland hardware, they have good people at both places.

I was at Home Depot the other day to get some paint... it took so long to get it tinted, I was about ready to walk out! The dude in front of me was getting some tinted and it turned out wrong (hmmmm... that seems to happen a lot at Home Depot!) Shorty, I go to Ace as often as I can. Sometimes they are a little higher priced, but at least you can get service! I tried to get my paint their but the guy said he couldn't make it black and I wanted black! Don't know why they can do it at Home Depot.
