school is no place for a sexual orientation club - especially in middle school! If I hd children in school I would be all over that one.

It is going to be in the high school from what I am understanding. The middle school has a teacher that has a son in high school that has pushed for this. Sad we live in a day that this is ok.
Can my child start a straight club?
We can have a gay club, but not an abstenance club!!!!!!

I am glad they are starting it, I really need some feminine decorating tips in my home. I just don't have that girly touch.
Betsy you could get one of them to help with Mary Kay make-up tips and maybe give us all some updated information on our wardrobes.
GEE! You can't have sex at school but you can discuss your sexual orientation.
Even though there is no bonus this year at work, I will find the money to keep red in private school.
I have nothing agains homosexuals, but a school is no place to broadcast it. As if kids don't have enough problems in the teen years with making the right choices.

You know, Some things I will just never understand. Luckily, all of my kids are out of school and grown.
Why is it....
An all black group is ok, but an all white group is racist?
An all homosexual group is ok, but an all heterosexual group is not?
A Scientific group teaching Darwinism is fine, but a Christian group teaching Creationism is not allowed?
An anti-gun group is politically correct, but a gun club is just a bunch of nuts.
So many people do nothing but gripe, grumble and bi**h about how wrong the world is. How "they" are being discriminated against, how the world owes them something, or that they deserve extra rights because they are "different".
I have no problem with a person because of their race, their gender, their religion, or their sexual orientation. I just feel that these differences shouldn't be used as a crutch, an excuse or a stepping stone.
I have no problem with a club for people with like interests and I feel people have a right to join and be a part of such a club if they so choose. These "clubs" may have their place, but it is NOT within our public school system!

I know this may sound harsh to some folks but i am so happy i don't have any children. If i did they would go to a christian school or be tutored at home. Kids today are exposed to so much at such young ages. It is scary!

I will tell you who is discriminated against, CHRISTIANS. Well I know some of our pastors in the area were told that there was NOTHING we can do about it. Oh and the person that will be in charge of it, "He is a great person and will make sure it is on the up and up." Up and up? Wait, thats not all. They will call it something other then the Gay club, they want to keep it as low key as possible. How about this, call it the Gay or the homosexual club! If they are too ashamed to call it what it is, then they know it is WRONG!!!!!

Does this fruit loop and I am assuming his gay son think that they will fly under the radar on this? Just as their tax dollars do not fund Christanity, mine do not fund homosexuals. I am sure there will be a stink raised. It won in White county, but this is not white county. I am with Bee on his, what do they do, is it like a dating service? Come on!
BTW 3 young ladies went and asked the BOE this year if they could have a class on abstinence vs safe sex, they we told no. I guess the school thinks that adstaining would be a bad thing and gays need support.
Alright I am fired up.

I believe to deal with the situation White County ended up not allowing any school clubs.
Kids would have to meet after school on their own time and place.
So can anyone join the club or do you have to be gay? Would that be discrimination if you couldn't join?
What does a gay club do?

Lilred gon on the phone with her friend and here's what she found out.
The teacher is gay and the older brother a Senior is gay. The younger son has a girlfriend.

Betsy as a mother and a Christian I am totally against homosexuality. The Bible says that it is an abomination to God. However, before you get any more excited just call Mr. Stephens and talk to him about the situation.
