For everyone who didn't bother to read the NGN editor's whiny column this week (and few people do), he was very upset about a Sentinel story on Wal-Mart. The Sentinel story began by talking about the cat being out of the bag on the subject, and Cooper responded with this:
"Those who have read the North Georgia News have known all the details and all the developments since the prospect of Wal-Mart coming to Union County first started. This scribe has reported all of the "real news" about Wal-Mart. It has certainly been no secret to those reading this newspaper that Wal-Mart is coming. Letting the cat out of the bag? The cat about Wal-Mart coming to town did not get out of the bag recently. That cat has been on the loose for quite sometime. And, for the record, your NGN scribe opened the bag that let the cat out."
He continued on for a while, but its just more pointless whimpering. The real bottom line is this: Whether the NGN let the cat out of the bag, the Sentinel let the cat out of the bag, or there never was a bag to begin with, there is one thing about cats we can all agree on.
Clearly, Norm Cooper is still the biggest p-u-s-s-y in Union County.

I think you'll fit in just fine here chiefxo! The good scribe's own words were that commissar paris had been in talks with wal mart for over a year (and for some reason neglected to tell the voters about that until wal mart had almost finalized the deal for the property.) I guess that would mean that the commissar was the first to know about wally world and not Mr. Editor.

Well now you've gone and insulted baby kittens.
If it was printed in the NGN then its no wonder so few knew.

It's no surprise to see such cowardice from anonymous nobodies on a forum. I'm sure no one would say such a thing to his face, because they wouldn't want to experience how a community leader and REAL MAN would handle some whiny little name-caller.

Community leader and real man huh? Unfortunately you are neither!

Haha, agreed Southpaw! I think someone mentioned something similar to this on the board already, but back a couple of years ago when Norm was whining about something in an opinion piece, someone in my office referred to it as him "making a big stink over it." That phrase eventually grew into us referring to his articles as Norm just poopin his pants over something. Ever since, whenever any one of us has the paper in the office, someone inevitably says, "So, what did Norm poop his pants about this week?" It's sad when someone who is supposed to be an editor of a newspaper is nothing more than a complete laughingstock in town. Omikkron
