QB, look at snopes.com about the need to register cell phones on the "do not call list" to avoid getting their number published in a cell phone directory. This is a false rumor. One less thing to worry about.

Personal cell phone users have always been able to add their numbers to the National Do Not Call Registry — the same Registry consumers use to register their land lines — either online at www.donotcall.gov or by calling toll-free 1-888-382-1222 from the telephone number they wish to register. Registrations become effective within 31 days of signing up and are active for five years. There is no cut-off date or deadline for registrations. Business-to-business calls are not covered under the Registry.

I posted my cell number on the registry anyway and I still get a telemarketer occasionally.

If you wait the number will tell you what to do if a telemarketer calls you. I had one call me and I "firmly but politely" let her know that I didn't appreciate her using up my minutes. Other than than I have had no problems

I know I shouldn't do it but I mess with them sometimes. One called a few days ago and asked for me and I said "Hang on a minute, let me get him for you" and the guy actually waited for nearly 10 minutes before he hang up. I have alot of rollover minutes accumulated so I didn't care. One called me at home a while back and I asked him for his number so that I could call him back when I wasn't busy. And believe it or not he gave me his telephone and extension number. I never called him back though.
