In Sunday School we are still studying Character.
In brief: we should have Christ like character, not be Christ, but be Christ like. After all we are created in his image.
Opposite of self-pity is rejoicing.
We should choose to be grateful, even in hard times.
Cry out to God when necessary, let him know your needs.
Do not be overcome with evil, overcome evil with good.
2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
Tribulations make patience, patience makes experience, experience makes hope.
Romans 5
Roman 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Ephesians 3:17 - 20
In church the preacher did his Father's day sermon on "The Little Things" and how much they mean to your children and wife. The little things that to most people don't amount to much, but counts to the ones who matter the most.
Zachariah 4:10 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
Peace Ya'll
