I read in the paper that the food pantry is almost empty. How about if we take up a collection of food and I will be happy to turn it in at the civic center.?? Friday night would be a good time to collect some items or you can bring it to my house if you want. what do you all think?

That is nice of you tulip. If you do not want to give food, they will accept cash too. I use to help a family out when they lived here. Every time I went shopping, I picked up extra stuff to give to them. I guess I will start doing this again.

I will bring something also. When you drop it off tell them it's from the porch pickin crowd.

Where is the food pantry located? I have quite a bit of canned things that I will take to them.

I forgot about it, too, QB! With everything going on, and everything I had to bring, I am surprised I didn't forget my head!

That is ok, I forgot too. The food pantry is located in the civic center. Maybe if we all brought a few things that would help. they mentioned that they needed things like cereal and beans.

Well, I found the food pantry. As you go into the civic center, go to the right, take the first left and it is the first door on the left. Looks like the panty is much better stocked than it was when they took the picture, which is good! Some people brought potatoe chips, which I thought was kind of strange!

I guess if you are that hungry, even potato chips will fill up your belly, but canned veggies and pasta and the like would be a lot more nutrition. Plus, some kids really like chips and it could be a treat for them.

Doesn't the post office also do a food pantry drive around the holidays??
