I am suppose to play nice so I hope I don't regret this.
Teach if you have some questions about bees or need some good reference sites I would be glad to help you out.
However, don't quit your day job. Because you will need it to support the hobby. I only know about 5-6 people who actually make a good living at it, and only 2 or 3 who make enough to live off of through the winter.

Queenbee, I talked with a man in Murphy the other day who keeps bees and gave me a jar of honey. It was then I realized I had never really even thought about the process of raising and keeping the bees or collecting the honey. I am going to focus on more productive crops and gardening right now, but if things go bad, I might call on you. Thanks for the offer! DEALS: Shortcircuit, every time I look for those notebooks, they are sold out. Do they offer rainchecks? Because 20 notebooks for a buck is an incredible deal, especially in today's thriving economy when you can't even get 20 french fries for a dollar. 24-pack Crayola crayons, Walmart: $0.22 I bought extras for when they're back at $1.88. They also have the same price on twin-pack glue sticks 10-pack red, blue, or black pens: $0.88

I think I heard somewhere that this weekend is tax free in Ga for computers, clothes, and school supplies. I don't think wally world offers rainchecks on items that are on sale but not sure about that.

Bee keeping is a full time job with little pay.
However might make a good topic for the schoolchildren. Most people are scared of bees because their first experience is stepping on one while running barefooted through the yard.
And the "Bee Movie" was a total farce. The only males are Drones, they have no stinger and all they do is breed the queen and then eat the honey and pollen the others bring in.
National Honey Board is a good place for teaching materials and the UGA website, look for Keith Delaplane (sp?) he is the expert in Ga.
