It seems like my DSL is slower than normal and it is taking longer to connect. I'm not sure if it might be time to replace my modem or if windstream is having technical issues. Is this happening to anyone else?

Mine seems to take a while to connect. But then again my computer goes through so many start up programs that I am used to it. Also if your virus protection and check up run on bootup that could also slow it down.

Several start up programs aren't necessary, when you donwload a new program some of them feel like hey need to run in the background for updates and just to make it start faster if you decided to use the program.

My computer starts up fine, I'm somewhat computer literate and I'm not afraid to dig into the registry and delete stuff that I don't need. My problem is a slow connection, since not many people are having trouble with windstream it's evidently a problem in my network since both of my computers are doing the same thing. It might be my modem but more than likely it's time for a new router, I've been looking for an excuse to go wireless and this might be it.

I know for sure now that my router has bit the dust, it has completely stopped working, I went straight from my DSL modem to one computer and it works great.
