Careful Coosa  Have you heard about the introduction of aggressive African bees and how they have interbred with the native honey bees? When the swarm gets aggravated, they all attack with a vengence. |

Not really patches, they always come back to the queen and the hive or they just die without good leadership.
A good queen has a great hive who are large producers and taken care of. Calm and wonderful and can be worked without any suit protection.
But all it takes is one stupid person who knows nothing about the hive or a brief signal from the queen and they will slap eat you up and send you running for cover.
By the way no such thing as OLDER bees, the worker bee has a very short lifespan. The queen lives a long time.
