Thee TVA has plans to convert recreational lands around the area of its lakes to industrial/commercial use. Although they are mandated to give 60 days notice of any meetings of such nature, they are skirting around the law by calling their meeting an OPEN HOUSE. The Meeting is TONIGHT @ North Ga. Tech on HGY 515 @ 4-8PM. PLEASE attend!! They have always been insensitive to the recreational use of our lakes, dropping the water level to mud flats for those residents who's homes border on the lakes, but now they plan to put eye sores on the lakes in the form of cement plants, electrical sub stations, etc. This is the first violation of TVA land since its conception in 1933. COME TONIGHT @north Georgia TECH on HGY 515, 4-8 P.M. Find out what they intend for Lake Notley & Union County.

Anyone know what happened at the meeting? I know the lake is dropping fast but that always happens in the fall. It sounds like someone must want to build a factory near the lake?

I don't know anything about the meeting but saw the article about them doing un-restricted draw-downs this winter.

I went but there are no plans at present for our lake they are only talking about lake Chatuge, but it is the first time since the inception of TVA they have ever proposed using lakeside land for industrial commercial uses. Everyone was writing a memo telling them the land should be only used for recreation. Liemar was there so no telling what he was scheming for. Sonny
