Told ya I would be back for football season.
OK here we go.
Ga. Tech put a hurting on Jacksonville State. Looks like Perrilloux should have dumped that bad boy rep and stuck with LSU. It wouldn’t have helped his game much but he has definitely stepped down in the league.
Will Spurrier take his Gamecocks all the way this year, doubtful. South Carolina looks good but they are lacking something. Not good to start out the season with a grade 3 concussion because those can stay with you for awhile. Purty throws, purty catches.
What will the Gamecocks show us this year?
Season is warming up and the Buckeyes are already filling the hold roster, to early for injuries guys, that’s what the tape is for. With Suspensions, walk-offs, un-invites and injuries the secondary now has a shortage. Wonder which SEC team will whup them this year? Hahaha
The Gayters hold a pre-season opener on Saturday against Hawaii. I can fortune tell on this one. Gayters can put the 3rd string in for this game. I will bet you every time Hawaii hears SEC they draw up and flinch. After the Dawgs big howdy to Hawaii last season, I can’t imagine them wanting to come back. Seems Meyers has his hopes up this year for his backs, that’s good cause they have been on his s-list for awhile. The question I have is, why will he be limiting Tebow’s running this year, that boy loves to run the ball. Are we suspecting injuries?
The Noles are in the midst of a quarterback decision. Who cares they ain’t even good enough for the SEC. Nuff said about that.
I can stand Stuart Mandel when will SI retire him and find somebody that knows about football? Why do I even read his columns? Keeps the blood pressure up and the arteries blowed out I guess. They have Georgia in the BCS bowl playing one of the following W.V., BYU, Oklahoma and Clemson. Please, even I have more respect for the Dawgs then that. (of course, I will deny I said that if asked in person, so don’t ya’ll tell)
Saved the best for last: TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS.
Arian Foster, All-SEC recognition in 2007, when he rushed for 1,193 yards. He needs 685 yards this season to become the Vols' leading career rusher. Gonna break some records and set the bar higher for those who try to fill his cleats after his final season.
Brandon Warren; will he play or won’t he play it’s all up to the NCAA.
Jonathan Crompton; strong runner. A running quarterback something the Vols haven’t seen in awhile. Enough experience to lead the Vols? Just a waiting game. A few words from the talking heads: Crompton will have an experienced line in front of him, a 1,000-yard rusher behind him and three receivers who made more than 50 receptions last season. The Vols scored at least 30 points in eight games in '07 and project to be productive again. This season, though, they're likely to run more often with Foster heading a talented group of tailbacks. Crompton also is an accomplished runner, which is another advantage for a new starter.
It’s always good to be in last place that way they never see you coming. Every year we start low and work our way up, nobody gives the Vols anything; they just have to take what they want. I always wait until the first game to make my prediction, so be it for this year.
