I don't see this topic on this forum - is there a reason? Other forum's contributors have indicated that there is a petition circulating to force Lamar's hand and include a vote for liquor to be placed on the ballot.

I've got mixed feelings, I voted NO last time. The people who are circulating and signing the petition are just showing their ignorance as sore losers. Alcohol will come here in the next few years but the wound that Lamar Paris created between the YES and NO crowds needs to heal before the matter is brought back up. I don't see a problem with it being sold in stores and restaurants BUT I don't want to see a bar on every corner and a bunch of those stupid looking neon Budweiser signs in every store window like you do in other towns.

I don't think we have to be concerned. That walmart thats being built will more than likely sell alcohol. I'll bet money we have already been sold out. Who will he blame this on Allison? I do remember Walmart in Murphy did not have alcohol at first but again, I bet that was part of the deal to get this one for us.

You may very well be right bubblebutt. If Liemar gets elected again he will get even bolder and we will see huge tax increses and Liemar and his buddies will be sitting around rolling cigars in $100 bills.
