Tony Dyer has posted on this site his endorsement for Harold Cook for Commissioner.
Tony C. Dyer’s Endorses Harold Cook for Union County Commissioner
My heartfelt thanks to my supporters and to the people in the community who voted for me in the primary. I have had many people call and wish me well.
I would like to personally take this opportunity to endorse Harold Cook for our County Commissioner.
I believe he is the man to get this county back on track.. Harold will promote low taxes ; eliminate county waste and unnecessary ordinances. Both Harold and I ,and most of the Union County Citizens, do not want or need BIG GOVERNMENT, without control taxation and spending, But we want and need a fair and balanced form of government with controlled spending. A good example of what I’m saying is: Do we think now is the proper time for the county to be borrowing $15,000,000?
Paris has raised taxes every year he’s been in office. From 2000 to 2007, taxes have increased 124% increase in taxes per person;
So I want to encourage all my supporters to go out and VOTE FOR HAROLD COOK FOR UNION COUNTY SOLE COMMISSIONER.
TONY C. DYER

Thank you Tony!!! many times over.
You have shown the true spirit of a free thinking individual who puts the citizens of Union County first and knows how government can be a burden under the likes of elected officials like Paris.
Paris has made only one comment worthy of reprint; it's the man running for office, not what party he belongs too that counts, and Paris ain't that person.

Tony has shown us that he is on the people's side.
Taboo, why do you hate the Republican Party so much? You are one of a very few yellow dog Democrats left in Union County. After the current slate of incumbents leave office, whenever that is, the inertia will be broken, and Union County which voted 79% for Bush and will vote 75-85% for McCain, will be true red.
But still voters should vote for the person not the party. I do understand your position now, Taboo, but I think you would be better off not trying to somehow stem the rising Red Tide, but to tell us why you support the candidates you do.
And I support your celebration of FREEDOM!!!

Justin I think that you may have meant this forum. I believe this county is still heavily Democratic.

"You are one of a very few yellow dog Democrats left in Union County. " Justin I think that you may have meant this forum. I believe this county is still heavily Democratic. You are right to a degree ana-most of the floridians and others moving up here are very LIBERAL democrats and now outnumber the local democrats. Justin is right as far as yellow dog democrats are concerned, as many have become disenchanted and moved over to voting republican because their party has done them wrong. They no longer consider themselves yellow dogs. Sonny Perdue is an example, Zell Miller another, although Zell still thinks he can change the democratic party back to what it was so he still calls himself a democrat. Most conservative democrats now vote for the candidates that express their beliefs; and in most cases here in Union County, it's republicans on a State and National level and democrats on a local level. By voting democrat on a local level, it shows the local voters are not getting the true picture of what goes on in Union County because the NGN is in the back pocket of the democrats.

This celebration of freedom is why i am what a democrat( my freedom of choice) i am, I dont agree on a national level a lot of times with the candidates, but on a local level ( 100% democrat ) check your numbers Justin at how that local office voting ratio compares statistically in Union County.I feel that Lamar has the leadership skills and education to guide our county as i feel Harold Cook does not( my opinion again). Got to stem the tide once in awhile you know,Us yellow dogs got to run and raise hell every now and then when our chain is unclipped. Till next time

No, no, no, I think most of the move ins are Republicans. However, those that are Democrats are very liberal and have taken over our local party. And they have pushed conservative people like Tony Dyer and Gene Nelson out.
Taboo, I felt that you were fairly conservative. If not and you support the National Party's platform, then I can respect that too. But, locally I don't care what party the candidates are from as long as they are conservative.
I feel this county needs a viable and credible Republican Party. Competition is always healthy. If you go to a Republican meeting, you will not see smelly, uneducated hicks railing against the Commissioner, but reasonble, college educated people discussing National and State politics and how to better our great county.
Mr. Lamar Paris has many skills that he has used to get where he is. He is interestig to talk to, intelligent, generally affable with a good sense of humor. That is the secret to his success.
If you get to know Harold, you will find that he has a very winning personality and a strong record.
Harold has a very uphill battle. And not many people care what I say, so I cannot affect the election and it will be up to the people!!!

Justin, most of the out of state move-ins I come in contact with are liberal democrats. We must meet different people.
""Mr. Lamar Paris has many skills that he has used to get where he is. He is interestig to talk to, intelligent, generally affable with a good sense of humor. That is the secret to his success.""
His best skill is B.S. and people believe it.

The skills Liemore Paris possess are the skills people of Union county do not need now or ever . He is a skilled liar , a skilled thief , and he is skilled at changing and destroying county records , all of which is heading to court . We will see if Mr. Paris is skilled enough to avoid prison in the end of all the litigations . And I do not think he can , because there are more than a few after JUSTICE and will not give up on the cause .

All we can -or- should ask for, is the law to be enforced. Not only for Mr. Paris but Dyer, Cook or anybody else! "IF" I repeat -IF- the law is enforced, Mr. Paris will go to jail because -THE LAW- requires that of people like Mr. Paris.

Well, the point is that people vote on personality not issues and for the person that has done the most for them personally.
And skills can be used for good or evil.

I hope that the good people who voted for Tony heeds his advice and votes for Cook. Union County cannot afford four more years of Lamar Paris.

I think the world of both Tony and Gene. One of them getting in there, would have been a win win situation. They never said a cross word about each other, they were both positive about each other. I respected that and still do. I am lacking with information on Cook, because my attitude is I will not vote for Lamar. I need to really do research on Cook, so I am inofrmed. With that being said it would take ALOT for Cook not to get my vote.

Dear Blessed. You are right about Gene and Tony. I think Harold only put his name in the pot thinking that if they didn't get the vote, they all would have another chance. He has talked with both Gene and Tony and they are with you, Just need to get tony out. Go to harold's web page www.haroldcook08.com and you can get a good idea of his background.
