anyone know how to alter a high waisted pair of jeans to a pair that sits comfortably at the hips? I need fleece lined jeans in the winter and the only styles available are high waisted. They don't fit me well as I don't have much of a waist - I have a boyish shape I guess. Anyway, I went to two alterationists today and neither had any ideas! I won't have another day off for a month - any ideas?

I wished that I could help you Laurel. My mom usually does all of our alterations. Have you checked with the corn crib or the fabric center?

The fabric center had suggested lining my existing pants but it's hard to explain - it really isn't the same. When I order the fleece lined pants they are made differently - there is no bulk. I might just chop them myself and use safety oins to keep them together!

That sounds like a doable plan. However, just remember not to bend, squat, stoop, or basically move.
