Kahana State Park Evictions; Time Running Out HAWAIITime is running out for six Oahu families who will be evicted Monday from state park land after living there for generations. The homes are located at Kahana State Park just off Kamehameha Highway. The state says the residents don't have permits or leases to be there. With the eviction just hours away, residents who must go rallied in the slim hope on Sunday that they might be able to stay. The state says the families are living illegally on state park land. "I'm not really ready to go out. I'll probably be losing a lot of my things," said Kahana resident Thoren Evans. Webmaster's Commentary: This is absurd. The state of Hawaii is already dealing with a huge homeless problem, and here the state wants to kick these people out of the homes they have occupied for generations? My wife and I have strolled through the area, and we have seen the graves on the grounds. Particularly poignant was a small grave of a child who died young. Who wants to be the backhoe operator to evict that? See Hawaii is not legally a state. whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/HAWAII/hawaii.html?q=HAWAII/hawaii.html
