As a matter of fact we are fixing nukes to night to take to Gainesville so we can start splitting bees and raising queens.
As for those allergies, well just because you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't out there. A friend of ours set pollen traps on one of his small yard and in about 2 days he had almost a 5 gallon bucket full of pollen.

Bee, since I don't know what you are talking about (nukes & pollen traps) guess I'll have to read up some more on bee keeping.

Nukes are what we raise baby bees and queens in.
Pollen traps are screens that the bee's walk across when going into the hive and it bumps the pollen off of their pollen sacs into a small screened box.

Got home from soccer practice and had to go to H.D. for some latches.
Then me and grumpy went down to the shop to "modify" the nukes. Before I had gotten there he had moved 2 stored hives and 14 nukes into the building and some of them still had honey in the frames.
Well low and behold I opened the door and there were no less than 2000 bees flying around in his shop. He had left his big window opened, they "smelled" the honey and came to get it.
Well we set to work putting latches and hinges on the nukes lids. Two reasons for that: Hinges are great because the lids are lightweight and you can just flip the top up and over without having to remove and then find somepleace to lay the lid when you are in the hive.
Latches are for keeping the lids tight and in place if a bear or some other critter knocks them off the stand while trying to get to the bees. Also for transporting, you don't want to be hauling down the highway and have the lids go flying off and bees escaping.
NOT A PRETTY SIGHT!.
Anyway we worked away as the bees slowly got full and flitted back to the hive. They aren't dangerous like that becuase they are more concerned about honey in stead of invaders. However as the night got coller they started heading towards the lights in the ceiling of the building, for heat. That's when it got aggravating becuase they are continuosly flying around the lights and such and end up in your hair and on your head crawling around.
I survived with no stings and got to watch a small bit of Biggest Loser.

Tulip you are on my mind every morning when I walk out and see the pink tulip in the corner of my flower bed ready to pop.
I am so excited. The Bleeding Hearts have put in an appearance and I have exactly 1 heart that has bloomed, so far.
We are suppose to get cold and flurries next week but not enough to hurt anything. My heart's are succulents though and any cold will kill them. May have to move the electric blanket to the flower bed. The cold killed them last year so I didn't get to enjoy them.
