You take the blossom that you pick early in the am, rinse it, then cut it open to lay flat. Dip in egg and seasoned flour, fry in hot grease. Mmmm, kinda tastes like chikin. I'm half baptist you know so if it taste like chicken, I had better try me some of that. Now I think that I could try making them if I just had some blossoms. Who's growing squash and what are the directions to your house? Do they have blossoms now? You just got me to wanting a bloomin onion! Hmmmmmm!!

Just go to a garden center and pull off all the blooms. No, that wouldn't be nice.

I remember my grandparents telling me that it was a certain squash that they used, but I can't remember the name of it. I'll have to do a little research.

Has anyone ever eaten squash blossoms? My Gma used to make them every summer that we came home, I don't remember eating very much squash, just the blossoms. I have never had it, but a woman I used to work w/ a few years back raved about 'em.

A while back someone was asking about a butterfly garden... I got a newsletter this morning from enature.com with a lot of cool information. I have used that website to learn about all kinds of stuff. If anyone is interested, here's the link. enature.com/gardening/butterfly_garden_home.asp

Daylilies on the road bank are beautiful. Orange, yellow and pink. My purple Indian Giver daylily should be blooming soon. Even the mini daylilies are loving it.
Picked my first lettuce yesterday and it is so nice. My first time growing it.
The avocado trees are doing great.
Peaches, apples and blueberries will be wonderful this year.
Sourwood's are starting to bloom and my girls are gearing up for a busy 3-4 weeks.

The box of wildflower seed I gambled on has put out a large bunch of flowers.
The Dahlias are huge and having to be propped up.
Coneflowers are purple and in bloom.
The Stargazers have so many buds I have to tie them up.
