Gas sure has went up in the last month, I believe the local average for regular is $2.67. The highest in the US is in Needles, CA at $3.79 and the cheapest in the country is in Gaffney, SC at $2.19.

You're right about that summerose. This situation makes the penny pincher come out in me, I'm tempted to buy a 55 gallon barrel and fill it up before it really gets high.

I have yet to figure out how gas can go in the ground at one price and go up several cents before the gas truck comes back for a delivery.
Actually I compared Blairsville to Blue Ridge and Poteete's is still the cheapest.
OK, OK, OK I wasn't comapring I thought I could get it cheaper in Blue Ridge but I was wrong, it cost me more.

We do usually have cheaper prices than Blue Ridge or Hiawassee, it seems like the best prices are usually between Jasper and Woodstock.

It looks like we've made somebody mad by talking about the high prices! Today regular has jumped up to $2.79/gallon.

I don't understand why gas prices can't be regulated. Exxon and other major corporations keep reporting their biggest profit yet. Really aggravates me.

The May 15 shut out of gas companies won't work.
What gas you don't buy you will just make up for in the following day's.
The only way to strike back at major oil companies is not to purchase from the store when you pay for the gas.
See the merchants don't really make anything off the gas that sell's, the gas company pay's for all of it. The merchant's have to change the prices according to the distributors calls. North Georgia Oil was totally repsonsible for the price increases when we ran our store on the Young Harris Hwy. If we didn't raise it to their demands they would stop shipments.
The merchants make their money when you buy a Coke and some snacks, or cigarettes when you go in to pay for your gas, you get the idea.
If you don't buy from the merchant, then they complain to the gas company that they aren't making any money and will have to find either a cheaper provider or another way to make money. They won't stay open just to sell gas because there is very little profit in it for them and will have to cut corners and maybe shut down..
Any gas you don't buy you will have to have eventually, so you aren't hurting the gas companies.

honeybee, I agree with you completely, us not buying gas for one day won't hurt the gas companies one bit.
