Supposedly all the Rebels Hometown gas stations have either been sold or are going out of business and that has caused some of the other local stations to jack up their prices. According to www.gaspricewatch the average price of regular is $2.47 so were a few pennies below the average. The cheapest in the country is $1.88 in Jacksonville, AR.

Gas prices are high most everywhere. I can remember when it was just 68 cents a gallon! That was quite a while back. It will go up again around Memorial Day weekend.

The rumor is that they are all going out, I have heard that they got so far in debt that they can't pay their creditors.

The situation with Rebels isn't what's raising the gas prices; it's happening all over, not just here in Blairsville. I spoke with a friend of mine in Ocala, FL on Friday; prices there had increased by 33ยข per gallon since Wednesday afternoon.

So...they aren't waiting until Memorial Day weekend to raise prices! It is already happening.

I do not understand how the price of gas can go up while it's still in the ground. Example: The gas truck delivers on Monday at 9:00 am and gas is $2.03, by the time 5:00 rolls around gas has gone up 10 cents but the truck hasn't made another delivery. How can the same gas be 10 cents highed when it hasn't been added to?
Government regulation needs to step in and get a hand on it. Consumers are paying the cost and Exxon and other major gas corporations are touting their best year ever.

Gas prices have been going up. OPEC is the biggest influence. Prices in Blairsville are usually higher than surrounding areas.

Honeybee this too confuses most of us . I voted for Bush and I have not seen any evidence as to any real development of hydrogen fuel . There are other alternatives as well . I am disappointed in our so called leaders at all levels .

Gas is usually cheaper out near where I live but it seems to be higher here, than in town.

As of today the Circle K's are both $2.41 per gallon and the two stations just past the light on Murphy Hwy are $2.43. The average price of gas in the USA is $2.54 per gallon.

A common business mistake is spreading yourself too thin. Speaking of which, when are these gas prices going to go down!

They really do need to come down, I've had just about enough of expensive gas prices. I just heard that the airlines are going to up their prices again too.

If we all had horses then the price of hay would go sky high.
