There's a ceremony for Meredith Emerson taking place on Jan. 20th at Meek's Park. A smuding ceremony was going to take place at Byron Herbert Reece, but due to the traffic, safety, & response from the community and all over, it's been moved to Meek's Park! I think something will be in NGN too about the silent walk. www.ronjones.org/CurrentComments/MeredithEmersonHike.html

Hubby say's, "Rain, Sleet, Snow, it's a GO"! He said "merdedith laid out a white carpet for everyone". I've been cooking up danishes and picked up some brownies from "Cobb's Mill". UCB is donating coffee & hot chocolate.

I'd say over 200 people? What a wonderful walk to remember. Fire & rescue were there, Lamar Paris, Norm, Mr. Bill from the other site, the Mountain Animal shelter were helping with the coffee & hot chocolate, pastries that were donated by Grinds & Glazes & Cobb's Mill brownies. They were offering free id chips to the dogs! A great, COLD turnout.

Glad to hear so many turned up. We really planned to go, but have a sick child here, and I'm still fighting mine, and we thought it was not a good idea. If I didn't have the kids with me, I would have went anyways. Our hearts were in it, even if our bodies weren't.

How many other cities and towns would have bothered to do a thing like that? It goes to show that even though we may have some major differences we've got a dang good bunch of people living in this county.
