More Rumors: seems you hear anything. BY THE WAY FERN!!! I HAVE POSTED THAT THESE ARE RUMORS I HAVE NOT SAID THAT THEY ARE FACTS! MY POST SAYS I WAS ASKING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HEARD If slander can be proven anywhere on someone, it's the Lamar Topic. OK Back on topic: I have heard that 1 former sheriff was not arrested, which I didn't figure that he was, cause I have met him briefly and he seems to be good guy. He has retired and he was sheriff. SO whoever started that rumor, it's untrue. MORE RUMORS: The head of the drug task force of Clay County is one of the guys arrested. MORE RUMORS THAT I DOUBT: 2 Blairsville business owners are involved, I don't think so and not many people in Blairsville are. I believe this is concentrated in the Hayesville area. HEY FERN CALL YOUR SECRET BUDDY BACK AND TELL THEM TO GO CHECK www.topix.net/forum/city/hayesville-nc/TJ6DO72BL8PLG58MQ, cause a lot of those folks over there are discussing it too. Plus several names I haven't posted here. As a matter of fact most all of Cherokee County and Clay County are discussing it. Does he want me to keep a list for him? Or just post the blog links here? We can work together, I will be a secret spy and gather the information, and then give it to him. I always post information I find on the web, go check my other post. I hope none of this is true and I would love to be able to prove people wrong about saying this, so we will call this a fact finding mission. The only thing I have posted I believe, is the ones who are innocent. I hope that they don't prove me wrong cause they seem like upstanding folks. If you know the truth just post that you spoke to so and so and it's not true and that part will be proven untrue. You know I should have been a STAR reporter. |

It seems like that the rumor mill has really been churning lately, and what's true and what's fiction has really been cloudy. When I see it, I'll believe it. Though, the wealthier and "more powerful" the person who gets busted is, the heavier I will laugh. Worst thing is, if it is anyone big, they won't do a lick of time, and some underling will take the rap. Like the old saying goes, money talks and bull**** walks. Been that way for ages in these parts.

The only confirmed arrests so far are deputies Eddie Osborn and Jesse Gibson. But the GBI is in the middle of a major operation and the ax is going to fall on a number of people in the near future for six years worth of infractions.

Umm.. I have heard so many rumours..
What is confirmed and what is not yet.. well, have you all ever tried pulling up a name on the Georgia Dept. of Corrections website that YOU KNOW HAS BEEN IN PRISON, for first time offenders acts but their names arent listed? NOW THAT IS CRAZYWILD HUH?
Corruption in Towns Co. has been confirmed.. I actually feel sorry for those residents tho because they have lost their sense of security from what most say that I KNOW OF FROM THERE..
There are a lot of residents that are at a loss of who to trust and sadly, Justice of the peace rang shots for them to read about.

BIG MONEY doesn't scare me. However, let your BIG MONEY friend know that it would actually be libel not slander. If BIG MONEY wants my little single wide trailer with my chickens and rabbits I am sure with the dark forces at work in the county BIG MONEY could probably get it.
Slander is what is repeated and libel is what is printed.
You may also want to have BIG MONEY go and check the internet and do a search for "Internet Libel".

Still no news anywhere, so how could something like this get started and spread so quickly?
If so many people know of it and yes lot's of people have heard, then who was the original source of the information?
My opinion is that the big boys will never get their hands dirty with this it will trickle down to an employee who will take the fall and while they are doing time their families will reap the rewards and so will little man after he get's out. The big boys will pay to keep their skeletons in the closet.
By the way Fern you can't jump me on this board and then exchange e-mails with me, being so friendly. I am just a tad smarter than that. I figured it out last night. But that's ok because I know you are trying to cover your tail even though it's wagging on both ends. I forgive you, casue that's the way I am.

You didnt say it first.. and its nothing that locals didnt hear out of the blue.. I dont know how many times Ive heard that so and so was locked up, or this one done this or that one done that.. take it with a grain of salt is what I do... specially some folks with scanners. LORDY THEY GET ME TICKLED AND ROLLING EYES TOO!LOL They have thisun dead and the next thing you know, you are starring them face to face in circle K and thinking.. you came back from the dead that quick!lol! Relieved to see them... you just grin and speak.. I do anyways.. lol!
