Legally speaking, HB, I know what the difference between libel and slander. Defamation should of been the correct term of use. I apologize.
A false statement that injures someone's reputation and exposes him to public contempt, hatred, ridicule, or condemnation. If the false statement is published in print or through broadcast media, such as radio or TV, it is called libel. If it is only spoken, it is called slander.
But no, you're so right, there is none of that here.

Still no news anywhere, so how could something like this get started and spread so quickly? If so many people know of it and yes lot's of people have heard, then who was the original source of the information? My opinion is that the big boys will never get their hands dirty with this it will trickle down to an employee who will take the fall and while they are doing time their families will reap the rewards and so will little man after he get's out. The big boys will pay to keep their skeletons in the closet. By the way Fern you can't jump me on this board and then exchange e-mails with me, being so friendly. I am just a tad smarter than that. I figured it out last night. But that's ok because I know you are trying to cover your tail even though it's wagging on both ends. I forgive you, casue that's the way I am. HB, You have forgiven someone other than me. My account on here isn't even activated. And if you'd like, I would even give you my password to prove that. That's how honest I am. And showing I have nothing to hide. The one who posted between you and I, probably is the culprit. I deleted my account yesterday. And came back and redone it today. So until today, I had no way of trying to even exchanging an email with you or anyone on this website. But I'll forgive you for them, because that is the type of person I am too. |

First... FEAR NO EVIL. There is nothing remotely slanderous, libelous or otherwise defamatory posted anywhere on this thread.
The first amendment was FIRST because for freedom to succeed, citizens must discuss corruption in government. Thats exactly what's been posted.
The First Amendment doesn't exist for the banal nor for those afraid to speak out. It exists to protect those with the courage to point fingers because freedom depends on them.

seems a former county employee has moved to a state that starts with the letter "K" and has investments in a horse farm. He was notified that he had "X" amount of day's to make himself available to authorities or it could be really, really bad for him.
THE PLOT THICKENS................................................

Well the other day while I was in Hiawassee, I overheard one of the bank employees talking about this whole mess. It seems that the Feds came into the bank last week and froze at least 20 major accounts. These are big money accounts. Not the little guys. So there must be something big going on.
Honeybee thank you for starting this topic and for providing those links. And hey Fern...get a life. You dont know any big dogs. If you did you would know that this is all possible and it's about time too. You need to stay on the other side of the boards and not show your face around these here parts if you cant stay a member. I don't know which bank ferngully is writing about... but isn't insured loan defaulting an integral element to money laundering? Wasn't there something about a $20million+ default a few weeks back involving one of the banks? It must be just a coincidence.

Well I would disclose which bank it was but I would be afraid that it may get the bank employees in trouble for gossiping while off duty. I've probably said too much as it is. Do know this...it was in Hiawassee.
