Hector Manuel Velazquez-Nava pleaded no contest to two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, in connection with an April crash in L.A. that killed film director Robert Clark and his son, Ariel.
Clark, the well-known director of "A Christmas Story," and 22-year-old Ariel were killed when Velazquez-Nava's GMC Yukon crossed the line and hit Clark's Infiniti head-on.
The 24-year-old faces up to six years in state prison when he is sentenced September 27.
OK THIS GRRRSSSS ME! And not becuase it's someone remotely famous.
Drunk drivers aggravate the crap out of me. The most this guy get's is 6 years for 2 murders.
GEE! Seems the penalty for DUI murders and straight out shooting somesone is 2 totally different types of killings.
So if you don't like someone, get drunk, run over them with your car and you might do 6 years or less.
Sounds like some Blairsville cases I read about in the past.

He should get much longer than 6 years. Murder is murder to me, even if a gun or knife isn't involved.

You're right rose. Laws need to be changed, anyone who gets drunk, gets in the car and kills someone should be treated just like someone who pulled out a gun and shot someone.
