Georgians would pay about $3 billion annually in new sales taxes under House Speaker Glenn Richardson's tax plan that wipes out dozens of current exemptions on items including prescription drugs, bread and milk.

It would eliminate all ad valorem taxes, no more property tax increases to worry about and everyones car tags would only cost $20 each.
